
Florence Toh Haw Ching (Ph.D) serves as a Senior Lecturer with the Department of English, Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication, Universiti Putra Malaysia. She teaches courses in writing and literature.
Throughout the years, she has been involved with research focusing on children’s literature, interdisciplinary studies in literature, Shakespeare and theatre studies. She also supervises research in gender studies and literary translation. Occassionally, she has been invited to participate in events and workshops related to teaching and training of language competency.
Personally passionate about the mental and emotional well-being of children and youths, she believes that nature cannot be separated from nurture. As such, she enjoys regular engagements with nature and is aiming towards a more eco-friendly lifestyle in promotion of healthy and wholesome being. She was previously appointed as judge in the “Let’s Write, Be Creative with English” Essay Competition 2019 organized by the Ministry of Education, Malaysia – an experience she has found to be both enlightening and enriching.
